I grew up in Miami, and every year I couldn’t wait for Seventeen’s college issue and its fashion spreads on bucolic New England campuses. So I took off to Smith College, saw snow for the first time, earned a degree in Psychology, and along the way I wrote, and wrote, and wrote some more.
I returned to Miami, put my psych degree and statistics wizardry to work at a market research firm before I wormed my way into a Miami ad agency where I learned to love the creative side of agency life and performed in unfortunate Pointer Sisters video at an Addy Awards dinner. I missed New England like crazy, and moved to Boston to work at Schneider & Associates, where, surrounded by delightful and talented PR professionals, I learned how to craft a press release, plan a killer event (ask me about the tubas on the roof), and create copy that cuts through the clutter. Loved my job, loved the city, but when my heart got broken in about 86 places, I high-tailed it back to Miami. I landed at Pearson, McGuire and handled PR for luxury real estate and resorts throughout Florida and the Caribbean, before leaving to launch my freelance copywriting business. Fast-forward to 2008, with a move to Austin, where I’m now happily collaborating with some pretty fabulous creatives and corporate clients.
But enough about me. Let’s talk about you.
